The cost of a new ductless system for your home or business is in direct proportion to its size.
The formula for designing an effective & efficient ductless system is based on the total square footage of the area(s) you want to heat & cool.
The industry recommends for every 600 square feet of space you allow for "one ton" of coolant which is the equivalent of 12,000 BTU's.
For a 2000 square foot home figure about $5,000 to $7,000.
Additional heads or "air handlers" and greater heating capacities will increase the cost of a system.
A ductless heating and cooling system is a highly efficient system that does not require the use of air ducts.
Ductless systems consist of an outdoor compressor unit and one or more indoor air-handeling units, called "heads", linked by a dedicated refrigerant line.
Indoor heads are typically mounted high on a wall covering a 3 hole where the refrigerant line passes through from the outside unit which is mounted at the base of the house.
Each indoor head corresponds with a heating and cooling zone that can be controlled independently.
