At Nelson Heating & Electric, our story starts with Carlton Baker who opened Baker Radio & Electric in 1934 in Cainsville, Missouri on the east side of the square.
During WWII when he was limited in stock due to rationing, he closed and moved to Kansas City for 4 years.
In 1951, he returned to Cainsville and purchased a building on the west side of the square, Carlton continued operating in that location for 28 years.
In December of 1979 he sold his business to Don Bain of Ness City, Kansas.
Mr. Bains wife was not happy in Cainsville and in 1981 after only 2 years, he sold to Dennis Nelson.
